Born in a musicians’ family, Paolo Manasse studied classical piano since the age of six, with Maestro Ancillotti. During his college years, he played piano, keyboards as well as electric bass and drums in many students rock bands, working and recording with the Dave Electric Band. He then discovered jazz attending, and then graduating from, the Franco D’Andrea jazz seminar in Milan. He then went on attending different jazz seminars both in Italy and the US, such as the Berklee in Umbria, the Port Townsend Jazz Seminar, the Avigliana Jazz Seminar, and studying with Massimo Colombo, Antonio Faraò and, again, Franco D’Andrea. He often plays in clubs of Bologna and Milan, either with his Trio (the 3PM Jazz Trio) or Quartet (the 4PM Jazz Quartet), and often performs with the Alma Jazz Orchestra of the University of Bologna. He has played with several musicians in both towns: in addition to the musicians of the United Jazz Artists of Milan, with Alessandro Lomele, Riccardo Frisari, Gianluca Alberti, Mirko Roccato e (rock) Dave Electric.
