Fr. Luca Broggi (1973), priest of the ArchDioceses of Milan, took its classical and theological studies atthe Archepiscopal Seminary of Milan. During his stay at the Seminary, he studied piano and organ, fist under fr. Carlo José Seno, and then with the master Giovanni Tenti, founder and director of the choir and orchestra Ars Cantus. After being ordained priest in 1999, he exercited his ministry in the parish S. Ambrogio of Seregno for ten years, taking care of the youths and children. Additionally, he was also teacher of Catholic Religion in primary and in the secondary schools, and took care of the scholastic pastoral. In the same years, he continued self-taught musical studies, working at first in the musical animation of the seminarist liturgy, then in the parishes in which he did his priest duties and pastoral care. Today he works as parochial vicar in the parish of the Sacro Cuore di Gesù alla Cagnola (Sacred Heart of Jesus in Cagnola) in Milan, still devoting himself to the youth and to the school pastoral. Fr. Luca Broggi is very kin in music, being proficient in playing piano, organ, guitar, and accordion, singing as bass, and studying composition. Additionally, his interests covers also poetry, classic and foreign languages, and theology. In this regard he is now ending a Master thesis about the Mariology of Roman the Melodist. As a poet, his first collection “Rime scarse” has been published for the edition Ancora in 2011. As a pianist, he cooperates since 2010 with the “Ensemble Florete Flores”. He accompanied the Ensemble in the performances of the Italian theatrical version of the musical “Billy Elliot”. Also with the Ensemble, this time conducted by the master Mirko Luppi, he published for the label Italian Way Music his first CD of Christmas compositions: O genti tutte venite (Oh come all ye heathen!).
