Originally from Triggiano (Bari), born in 1972, Luca began playing the piano at the age of twelve, learning the basics with Alba Masciopinto. He immediately devoted himself to classical studies, specializing for several years with Maestro Flavio Peconio at the "Piccinni" Conservatory in Bari. At a very young age, he formed his first musical groups with which he performed in various contexts. This experience gradually introduced him to modern music and jazz, prompting him to enroll at the "Il Pentagramma" music school, also in Bari, where, under the guidance of Davide Santorsola and Nico Marziliano, he studied modern piano, jazz, harmony, arrangement, and composition. He also participated in numerous seminars with Claudio Fasoli, Mario Raja, Stefano Battaglia, Fabrizio Sferra, and Paolino Dallaporta, and in 1996 he took part in the "International Jazz Music Seminars" in Siena, where he refined his skills with Enrico Pieranunzi, Franco D'Andrea, and Ettore Fioravanti. His concert activity is intense: as a freelancer or in various groups, he performs throughout Italy—Rome, Milan, Genoa, Modena, Emilia-Romagna, Calabria, Sardinia, and more—as well as in Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, and even in China, Beijing (as part of the "CHic 2005" International Fair), and in a variety of contexts: events, exhibitions, theaters, clubs, and festivals (Onyx Jazz Festival, Beat on to Jazz, Besana Open Jazz Festival, Apriljazz, Blue Note in Milan, and others). He has collaborated with numerous high-caliber artists – such as Fabrizio Bosso, Francesco Bearzatti, Gianluca Petrella, Roberto Ottaviano, Nicola Conte, Toni Arco, Ferdinando Faraò, Marco Vaggi, Michele Carrabba, Agostino Marangolo, Karl Potter, Ronnie Jones, Franco Cerri, Marco Gotti, Mario Biondi – and has recorded several CDs both as a soloist and as a sideman. For many years he has combined his concert activity with an intense teaching activity, teaching in various schools in Milan and the province (including Madamzajj, Soundcheck studio, Studio Musica, Lizard Milano, BeVoice, Mondo Musica).
